Sorcery even has the right name hahaha Invocation would still be 2 x INT, which changes its Intensity. Shaping could still be INT + POW (Att). Theism is easily adapted into Miracles but I feel like its attributes should be changed to match Sorceries mechanically but using Faith (Charisma) instead of Intelligence. The plot is fantasitc. The story line revolves around Garion. Garion has to overcome many conflicts, both mentally and physically. Throughout the book I felt involved in Garion's struggle with the self-resented fsct that he is a sorcerer. In conclusion, Queen of Sorcery is a wonderfully written piece of literature. Its world is indepth and 5/5(5).

During a gap in my NetGalley reads, I was looking for an interim book and happened on Sorcery & Cecelia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot: Being the correspondence of two Young Ladies of Quality regarding various Magical Scandals in London and the Country. I liked the cover, and the blurb mentioned The Royal College of Wizards, so I ordered it.4/5.

I am an unabashed Molly Harper fangirl, and I love young adult books set in a historical fantasy setting similar to Regency/Victorian England (I once made a website about them).

In other words, I am the perfect audience for CHANGELING, the first in Harper's new YA series, Sorcery and Society. CHANGELING is a delight/5.

Despite, or perhaps due to its relatively simple setting and compact cast of characters, the story is King in Sorcery Rising, and there isn't a word on the page that doesn't drive the story along, and carry the reader along with it.

I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys good character fantasy written with humour, flair and style.5/5(5). Sword and sorcery (S&S) is a subgenre of fantasy characterized by sword-wielding heroes engaged in exciting and violent adventures.

An element of romance is often present, as is an element of magic and the works of high fantasy, the tales, though dramatic, focus mainly on personal battles rather than world-endangering matters.
